F O R    S A L E:

  • Lady Scarlet (barn name: Vex) is a 12.1 hand 5 year old Welsh mare. She is a chestnut with a blaze, 4 stockings, and a light flaxen mane and tail. She is schooling 2' courses, and has easy lead changes. She is a lovely mover and elegant to look at. She has been to one schooling show (2') and was very brave and mannerly. She is very fancy, and one of only two grand-foals out of the USEF Zone VIII 2006 leading small pony hunter, Miss Scarlett. Sound and healthy. She is priced to sell at $12,500. Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa).
  • Matt's On A Roll (barn name: Matt) is a 15.2 hand 15 year old registered Thoroughbred chestnut gelding. He evented at the preliminary level for three seasons, and is now ready to take a teen around the novice and training levels. He is an awesome show jumper, and has auto lead changes. His dressage is now easy and he could teach someone a lot. I have not competed him for two years because I was in college, and, combined with the other horses I had to ride, did not have time for him. He just competed at an IHJA show and show jumped in the 3'3" division- it was the first time he had been out in two years, and he had a ball- jumped every course clean. He has no problems with 3'6" or 3'9", but since it was the first time he had been out for a while and the course was tight and slippery, we put him in a smaller division. He is super sensitive and easy to rate to his fences- kind of like a little ping pong ball. I LOVE this horse, and have had him for 7 years (got him off the track), but we are selling almost all of our geldings because we have a breeding farm and geldings aren't breedable. A perfect home is a must. He is 100% sound, and has never taken a lame step. This a super fun horse that could teach someone a lot. Priced to sell now at $7,000- must have pasture room for colts! Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa).
  • SOLD The Toy Soldier (barn name: Simile) is a 12 hand 5 year old bright copper chestnut Welsh Pony gelding. He has light flaxen mane and tail, a blaze and both hind stockings. He is gorgeous to look at and a very cute mover with excellent form over fences. He is currently schooling 2' courses and training level dressage. He also moves away from the leg well. He is starting lead changes. At his first show (schooling hunter show), he won a class and placed second in many classes and ribboned in every class (there were at least 10 people per class). He also went in 4 short stirrup o/f classes, went right down the lines, never looked or stopped. He was the hit of the show, and acted like he had shown every day of his life. He has perfect manners on the ground and under saddle and particularly loves being bathed and riding in the trailer. He is sound, healthy and fancy. He is also great on the trails. We have priced him to sell now at $6,500- need the room in the pasture for colts! Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa). SOLD
  • You and I (barn name: Llato) is a 12.1 1/2 hand 9 year old Welsh gelding. He is a chestnut with a stripe and two socks. He is very leggy and a big mover with gorgeous form over fences. He has been to quite a few schooling shows (2') and has easy lead changes. He has a very light mouth and always eager to please. Llato is a maternal brother to Miss Scarlett, 2006 USEF Zone VIII leading small pony hunter. He has the sweetest and most willing attitude of any pony we have ever worked with, and is a kick ride that all children feel comfortable on. He is completely safe and has no spook. He is sound with excellent feet and legs. He is priced to sell now at $12,500- need pasture space for colts! Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa).
  • SOLD Buttercup is a 9 hand 5 year old Welsh/ Miniature Horse cross chestnut gelding. He is kid-safe and is a perfect first pony. Great manners, adorable, sound, and healthy. Buttercup is sadly outgrown- he was his owner's first pony and is looking for a similar position again. He walks, trots, canters, and jumps "mini" fences with his little rider. He sells with a good quality English saddle as well as the rest of his tack. $1,200 Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa). SOLD

  • Bozs Mighty Mite is a 14.3 hand 4 year old registered Quarter Horse chestnut gelding. Mighty Mite has had 30 days under saddle and is doing very well. He walks, trots and canters in the arena and has a great stop. He knows his leads and has great transitions. He has a very soft mouth and only needs a plain snaffle. He is great on the trails and goes through water, over ditches and up and down hills. He does all of this either English or western. He is very quiet and safe and would would be great for any level of rider. This horse could do anything; halter, reining, roping, cutting, western pleasure, jumping, trails or games. He is quiet enough for 4-H and trails but has the ability to do other sports. He is sound and healthy. His owner is down sizing his herd. $2,500 Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa).

  • SOLD Don Giovanni (barn name: Gio) is a 14.1 1/2 hand 12 year old Mustang bay gelding for sale. Although he is a Mustang, he looks like a warmblood, and judges love him. He has no tattoo and was never wild. He is a packer training level eventer. He evented at the training level with a 12 and 13 year old boy (my brother) for two seasons, and he has never had a cross country penalty in his entire career. He weighs 1,100 pounds when he is fit, and has enormous feet and bones. His dressage is steady and easy, and he generally scored in the middle of the pack with the little boy. Considering the little boy's aversion to dressage (the same aversion to dressage that most 12 and 13 year old boys have), Gio did the best he could. Gio has done very little for a few years, as his current owner's mother died and the girl lost interest in riding. They have now decided that such a good pony should be sold to a competition home, where his training and talent will be utilized. He is now back in work at our farm. He is 100% sound and healthy. He is also safe enough for small children to ride and has glass-smooth gaits. Gio would be an ideal Pony Club mount, suitable for D-1 through C-3, and probably the B and A levels, as well. He has a lot of jump and a perfect eye to his fences, and is easy to maintain a quiet seat, leg, and hand on. This is a super pony that needs a perfect home. Gio placed 4th at Hunter Oaks Horse Trials at the training level (his first event in 3 years), qualifying him for the 2008 Area IV Championships at the training level. Sound and healthy. $15,000 Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa). SOLD
  • SOLD Nila Jo is a 15.2 hand 9 year old registered Thoroughbred bay mare. She never went to the track, and so has no common ex-racehorse problems. She successfully competed at unrated events for 3 seasons at the beginner novice and novice levels. She is very easy in dressage and is a clean, honest jumper. She is extremely quiet and non-spooky, and is not a typical Thoroughbred that gets hot with time off. She is excellent on trails, alone or in company. She is a nice mover and loves attention. Unlike many Thoroughbreds, she would be suitable for a beginner or Pony Clubber. This is the type of horse that could be shared between a child and parent- safe and easy enough for both, but big enough for the parent. She is sound and healthy. Priced to sell at $6,000 Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa). SOLD
  • Mischief is a 14.1 hand 10 year old POA bay leopard gelding. He has competed at the training level in eventing for a couple of seasons (scores in 20s and 30s in dressage), was pony jumper champion first time out at Wellington, FL several years ago, went to the world championships in IMGA games (Irish team), and even competed in the pony hunters at an "A" show. Auto lead changes, huge mover, preliminary potential, super fun, great on trails. Sound and healthy. $20,000 Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa).

  •  SOLD Ohtobe is a 13.1 hand 13 year old grade pony gelding. He is a flashy black with three white stockings, a star and connected elongated snip. He is SUPER quiet and safe, at home, at shows, on the trails, alone or in company. This pony has been there and done that. He showed (and won EVERY class) for a season of dressage at the training level at USEF rated shows. Before that, he showed the hunters. He has also foxhunted. His current owners bought him to play games and polocrosse, and while he is very safe, he definitely lacks the speed to play at the advanced level. This pony can be put together easily or ridden on a loose rein. Very honest and safe over fences. He has his lead changes. He would be a perfect short stirrup or beginning Pony Club pony, and can then teach your child the finer points of several sports. This is a one in a million pony- super quiet, fun and safe, yet still young and sound! Do not miss your opportunity to buy this pony! Ohtobe's owner is selling him because he is too slow to play at the Masters level in games, although he excels in the Junior division. $8,000 Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068 (cell). You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa). SOLD

  •

Jescino is a 15.2 hand 16 year old Thoroughbred chestnut gelding. Jescino showed in the 2'6" hunters at schooling shows in summer 2007. He is quiet and brave over fences, and does his lead changes. He does training level dressage and has beautiful rocking chair gaits to ride. Jescino was mistreated badly and needs a patient, loving person willing to take the time to bond with him. Jescino has foundered, and needs special shoeing to be a riding horse, or he could be a good pasture pet. For that reason, he is free to a good home. Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa).

  • SOLD Julie is a 15.2 hand 8 year old chestnut mare. Julie is great on the trails and loves to go out for a ride- she will even pony other horses on the trails. Julie showed in the Mini Hunter (2') division at IHJA rated shows summer 2007. She is very quiet, brave, and relaxed at shows. She is eager to please and enjoys attention. Because of her willing attitude, Julie would be a good horse for someone to work on for a first project horse. She would make a nice local hunter, 4-H, trail, or Pony Club horse. She is very sound and healthy.$2,500 Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144 (home) or (309)750-0068. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa) SOLD
